The film "THE EYES", starring actor Shin Mina, has reclaimed the number one spot at the box office in its third week of release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie theater admissions on the 7th, "THE EYES" drew 43,650 viewers nationwide on the 6th. The total cumulative audience stands at 886,348.
Released on June 24, "THE EYES" created a stir in its second week by surpassing "Toy Story 5" to take the top spot. Although it briefly yielded the lead back to "Toy Story 5" over the weekend, it successfully reclaimed the top position on a weekday in its third week.
Showing strong momentum by overtaking "Toy Story 5" once again, "THE EYES" is now on the verge of surpassing 1 million admissions. Barring any unexpected changes, the film is expected to hit the 1 million mark within this week.
"THE EYES" is a suspense thriller that follows the story of Seo-jin, who is gradually losing her sight due to a genetic disease, as she uncovers the truth behind the mysterious death of her twin sister. It is a remake of the Spanish film "Julia's Eyes," featuring a compelling dual role performance by Shin Mina.
