Singer-songwriter JUNNY has expressed his deep admiration for singer Sung Si-kyung, sending a public love call by saying, "I really want to write a song for him."
During a live broadcast on the fan communication platform b.stage on the 22nd, JUNNY did not hide his affection for Sung Si-kyung's music.
When a fan mentioned Sung Si-kyung's hit song "It Would Be Good," JUNNY spontaneously sang an R&B version of the track. He then shared his respect, saying, "My favorite song by Sung Si-kyung sunbaenim is 'HeeJae.' I’ve mentioned this somewhere before, but I really want to write a song for him. He is so talented at writing music, writing lyrics, and singing."
JUNNY added, "'HeeJae' is from a movie OST, and I think it's such a great song. If the opportunity arises, I would love to cover it." He then looked into the camera and said, "How amazing would that be? I love you, Sung Si-kyung sunbaenim," drawing laughter. He also shared his hopes regarding the KBS music program 'The Seasons,' stating honestly, "I really want to go on 'The Seasons.' I'm confident I'd do a great job."
While JUNNY may be a less familiar name to the general public in Korea, he is recognized in the global music market as a highly skilled singer-songwriter and producer. He has participated in the music production for top K-pop artists such as IU, ZICO, NCT, BAEKHYUN, and KAI, and is highly regarded as a musician with prowess in songwriting, composition, and production.
Notably, his 2023 single "INVITATION," featuring Dynamic Duo's Gaeko, went viral globally, and this year, he was selected as a Spotify 'RADAR Korea' artist. He has also been loved by music fans both at home and abroad, ranking as the #1 most-streamed artist in the 'K-TrenChill R&B' genre for the year.
JUNNY, who recently released his new song "Heaven Can Wait," is continuing his active career. Coincidentally, as it is known that Sung Si-kyung released a new song titled "Heaven Knows" on the 19th, fans are already buzzing with excitement about a potential collaboration between the two.
