Singer Seo Inyoung candidly opened up about her feelings ahead of her upcoming remarriage and her deep affection for her fiancé.
In a video released on June 9 on her YouTube channel, she shared her thoughts following her wedding announcement and revealed her love story with her fiancé.
Previously, Seo Inyoung announced that she is preparing to get married at the end of this year. Her fiancé is Choi Ji-hoon, the CEO of NP, who is six years her senior. This marks a fresh start for her, approximately two years after her divorce in 2023.
In the video, Seo Inyoung recalled, "We originally planned to do it sooner, but we pushed it back a bit because I started my YouTube channel. Nothing changes just because I'm getting married. I will continue my activities exactly as I do now, I'll just have a husband." She added, "At one point, I suffered from severe depression and spent many days drinking. However, when I met my boyfriend on a blind date, I loved how he smiled and didn't avoid eye contact when greeting me. I was also impressed by how confidently he showed up to a gathering with my friends and family."
She continued, "I didn't think about marriage from the very beginning. In fact, I tried to stop myself because I was afraid of getting hurt again. But gradually, I became certain that I would be okay with this person. I developed a strong determination to get married." She then shared their heart-fluttering love story, saying, "On the other hand, my husband said he knew we would get married the moment he first saw me. I think that's why we also had our first kiss then."
Regarding her fiancé, she drew a line by clarifying that he is a salaried employee rather than a businessman, emphasizing, "There was a time in the past when I liked wealthy people, but now I like someone who lives diligently. I like someone who is responsible and sincere." She highlighted, "I was usually the type to make more money (than average men), but this person never asked about my money and had no interest in it. Instead, he told me, 'I can take responsibility for you.' He showed real responsibility."
She also shared her honest feelings about the reactions that poured in after her wedding announcement. Seo Inyoung expressed her gratitude, saying, "The comment that hurt the most was, 'Let's see how many months they last.' Honestly, I'm scared too. But this time, I really plan to make an effort to live well." She added, "His real-life appearance is much better than the photos that were released. I was upset that his name and company were made public, but he told me, 'It's okay if it's for you. Don't get stressed.' I think this is the first time in my life I've met someone who says things like that to me."
She plans to continue her activities even after marriage. Seo Inyoung emphasized, "There is no lifestyle change just because I'm getting married. I will continue to work hard and keep communicating with fans through YouTube."
Lastly, Seo Inyoung requested, "I understand the worries. I think people might feel that way even more because I've experienced failure once before." She added, "I hope you will look upon us kindly and support us. Nothing changes just because I'm getting married."
