Noh Si-hwan to Challenge MLB Posting, Ready to Forego W 30.7 Billion Contract

Hanwha Eagles slugger Noh Si-hwan is taking on the challenge of advancing to Major League Baseball.

If he signs with a big league club through the posting system, his 11-year, total 30.7 billion won contract with the Hanwha Eagles will be nullified.

The KBO announced that, at the request of the Hanwha club, it has asked the MLB office to make Noh Si-hwan available via posting.

Noh conveyed his intention to pursue a career in the United States to the Hanwha front office on October 26, and the club accepted it.

Once the big league office notifies all 30 clubs of the posting, Noh will have 30 days to freely negotiate.

If Noh signs with a big league club, the 11-year, total 30.7 billion won multi-year contract that he signed with Hanwha this year and was set to take effect starting next year will be voided.
