Singer-songwriter Kang Ye-young has returned with a new release.
Kang's new EP, <A Day To Be Glad>, was released on music streaming sites at noon on the 29th through global distributor YG PLUS.
Following her first full-length album, <Too Real To Enjoy>, released last year, this new mini-album features a total of five tracks grounded in vintage-sensibility R&B pop, capturing moments of love, happiness, and gratitude discovered in everyday life.
The title track, "There Will Be No More Love," paradoxically expresses a deep emotion of being unable to love any more than this, contrasting with its title that hints at the end of a relationship. It weaves a sentiment that anyone who has truly loved someone can deeply relate to into warm, vintage sounds.
Kang shared, "I have been writing a gratitude journal every night for five years. What I've realized is that the more grateful I feel, the more things I have to be grateful for. I made this album with gratitude for having each day."
"Gratitude Journal," imbued with this sincerity, is included as the second title track, while the final track, "In the Back Seat," completes the album with the message that happiness is not far away, but as close as the back seat of a car.
Having previously drawn attention when singer Hwang Karam named her as a junior musician to watch during an interview, Kang is expected to once again prove her capabilities as a singer-songwriter with this new release.
Meanwhile, Kang plans to engage in various activities, starting with a performance at Unplugged in Hongdae on November 1, followed by radio guest appearances on Gwangju MBC and Chungbuk MBC's "Midday Hope Song."
