A fire truck and an ambulance arrive, and paramedics wait with a stretcher.

Around 12:36 p.m. yesterday (October 24), a woman in her 40s, identified as B, was found dead inside her home.

Police launched a pursuit, believing that her ex-boyfriend, a man in his 40s named A, murdered B and fled.

[Neighbor : (The police) seemed to arrive around 2 o'clock. About three police cars, and they seemed to talk only with the landlord….]

Immediately after the crime, A took a taxi and moved to Incheon International Airport, Wolmido, and other locations.

Fleeing from police pursuit, A was arrested by police in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, 18 hours after the incident.

The deceased victim B was found lying on a bed, and it was determined that there were no signs of forced entry.

[Paramedic : It was generally just a lying posture, and there were marks resembling pressure on the neck.]

According to the investigation, A had a record of being reported to the police twice last year for stalking the late B.

At the time, the police implemented safety measures such as issuing a restraining order and providing a smart watch, but the measures were cancelled after B submitted a petition requesting no punishment against A a month later, and A was cleared of charges without prosecution.

[Bae In-ho / Head of the Criminal Investigation Division, Daejeon Jungbu Police Station : After being arrested, the suspect made statements admitting to the charges, saying, 'I made a mistake, I want to die.' We are currently investigating the suspect's motive.]

Police confiscated A's mobile phone and conducted a search and seizure of his home to check whether it was a premeditated crime, while planning to apply for an arrest warrant by tomorrow.
