Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced on the 23rd (local time) that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit Moscow next week to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Minister Araghchi revealed President Pezeshkian's upcoming visit to Russia while sharing details on Instagram about his recent meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who visited Iran.

"I received Minister Lavrov and held in-depth discussions on the latest developments in bilateral relations as well as major regional and international issues," Araghchi said, adding that "the core agenda items were enhancing political and economic cooperation, implementing joint agreements, and strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and Russia."

"We reiterated the importance of continuous consultations to protect mutual interests and solidify regional peace and stability," he added, noting that "related discussions and consultations will continue next week in Moscow with the leaders of both countries in attendance."

The two leaders previously met this month during the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit held in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan.

Struggling with intense U.S. blockades and economic sanctions, Iran has been strengthening its cooperation with countries such as Russia and China.
