Professional baseball superstar Kim Do-young of the KIA Tigers has become even more formidable this fall. Including three home runs in the wild card or semi-playoff series, seven out of his 12 hits in October have been home runs. Furthermore, he hit his most home runs against the Samsung Lions, their playoff opponent, during the regular season.

Reporter Yu Byeongmin has the details.

The moment Kim Do-young's massive grand slam—likely to be recorded as the final grand slam at Jamsil Baseball Stadium—exploded, KIA fans, dressed in red as Kim had requested, let out their loudest cheers of this fall. Even KIA manager Lee Bum-ho, who earned the nickname "the man of grand slams" for hitting the most grand slams in professional baseball history, could not hide his astonishment.

[Lee Bum-ho / KIA Manager: The ones I hit were better. The ones I hit were better, but as a manager, watching the trajectory of that home run hit by a player named Kim Do-young... the thrill is hard to put into words.]

Kim's home run pace has become even fiercer in October.

During the remaining regular season games, he decorated four of his nine hits as home runs, and in the semi-playoff series, he notched just three hits, all of which cleared the fence to decide the games.

Kim's home run barrage is likely to heat up even further in the playoff series against Samsung.

Having cleared the fence four times at Lions Park, dubbed the "home run factory," he blasted a total of nine home runs against Samsung—tied with Kiwoom as his most against any single opponent.

[Kim Do-young / KIA Player: Because Samsung is a team with many players who possess various strengths, I will actually set aside those good memories for a moment and do my best in every single game.]
