[(August 27, Daegu District Court) Why did you kill her? What was your relationship with the victim? ......]
During a search of the location where Jeong stated he had dismembered and abandoned the body, the police recovered additional body parts yesterday (August 29).
The day after the crime on August 21, Jeong falsely reported to the police in the evening that his girlfriend was missing. CCTV footage also captured him about four hours before the report, carrying the dismembered body in black plastic bags and discarding them at a garbage collection area near his home.
Because the dumping sites are widespread, police have secured data on Jeong's vehicle GPS and travel routes to track his movements.
During police questioning, Jeong is reportedly providing relatively specific details about where he disposed of the remains.
It was previously found that immediately after the crime, Jeong attempted to throw off the investigation by faking the victim's whereabouts, such as dressing in women's clothing and traveling to Dongdaegu Station while carrying the victim's mobile phone.
Initially, police planned to deploy a profiler to conduct a psychopathy checklist assessment, but it did not take place as Jeong refused.
Considering the brutality of the crime, the police plan to reattempt the psychopathy assessment and hold an identity disclosure committee for Jeong.
