A man has been captured by police for assaulting his common-law wife and threatening to murder her family after getting angry at being told to put business cards into a card holder.

The Seoul Guro Police Station announced that it has booked and is investigating a man in his 30s, identified as A, on charges of assault and intimidation.

A is accused of striking his wife in the face and arms at around 11:20 p.m. the night before yesterday (August 11), angered by her telling him to organize his business cards in the holder.

He is also suspected of sending text messages at around 4:30 p.m. the following day threatening to kill the victim's family.

It was confirmed that A has a prior record of domestic violence, placing him under Grade A for recurrence-risk household monitoring.

Police applied for Emergency Temporary Measures 1, 2, and 3 against A, issuing orders to prohibit him from approaching within 100 meters and from making any contact.

As victim protection measures, police decided to register her with the 112 emergency system, provide a smart watch, and implement customized patrols.

Police stated that they plan to review whether to apply for an arrest warrant for A after completing their investigation.
