A high school student who fled from a patrol car after refusing to pull over has died after crashing his motorcycle into a parked vehicle and being transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest.

At around 9:00 AM today (August 12), a teenage high school student identified as A, who was riding a motorcycle on a road in Daeheung-ri, Yangpyeong-eup, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, crossed the center line and crashed into a passenger car parked on the opposite side of the road.

Student A was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest but was ultimately confirmed to have died.

Just before the accident, police spotted Student A riding a motorcycle without a license plate and without wearing a helmet, and signaled him to stop.

However, Student A ignored the order to stop and fled, leading to a pursuit of about 500 meters with the patrol car.

Police believe that after the distance between the motorcycle and the patrol car widened, Student A crashed at a location about 1 kilometer away from the spot where he was originally ordered to stop.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
