During an interview marking the conclusion of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Agent Kim Reactivated," held at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 30th, So Jisub opened up about the behind-the-scenes story of gifting gold to the staff who worked hard on set.
"Creating a single project isn't something I can achieve alone just by doing well. It's a token of my gratitude for everyone coming together and doing their absolute best," he said. "When I gave gold during my previous project 'Mercy for None,' the response was the best, so I prepared it again this time. It's not sponsored; I have custom phrases engraved on them. I did it with the hope that when they look back on this project in the future, it will remain a fond memory in their hearts," sharing his warm sincerity.
So Jisub, who repeatedly expressed his gratitude to the staff of "Agent Kim Reactivated," specifically mentioned the crew members who struggled while filming with water trucks in the dead of winter during the Myeong-pohang episode.
"Even in the harsh cold where the ground froze the moment rain fell, not a single person frowned or showed any displeasure, and everyone did their best in their own place. That image still remains in my mind like a photograph. I was truly grateful," he said, giving credit to the staff.
When asked about the secret to maintaining his flawless physique and pulling off action scenes even in his late 40s, he pointed to rigorous self-discipline. Stating that when things get tough, he exercises to the extreme until his mind goes completely blank, So Jisub also maintains a strict daily routine. "If I have no schedule, I eat breakfast, box for two hours, and go to the gym for an hour in the afternoon. I eat dinner at home," he said candidly, adding with a laugh, "Nowadays, exercise alone isn't enough, so I occasionally go to the dermatology clinic," sending those around him into laughter.
He also shared his honest feelings about the nickname "So-ganji" (stylish So) that has followed him for a long time. "When I first heard it, I cared a lot and felt pressured, so I tried hard to live up to it. But now, it has become such a precious and grateful nickname that only applies to me," he smiled.
Finally, bidding farewell to the character Manager Kim he portrayed, So Jisub said, "He was a very lonely man who came from the North to the South and raised his daughter all by himself, but I'm glad he had his daughter and friends. I want to tell him, 'You were lonely, but you were cool,'" delivering his final greeting.
