Heavy rainfall on July 18 has led to a series of damages across the Gyeonggi region, including flooded homes and roads.

From 8:00 p.m. on July 17 to 6:00 a.m. today, 334 personnel and 90 pieces of firefighting equipment were deployed to carry out 80 safety operations.

By type, these included 25 cases of flooded homes, 43 cases of road obstructions, and 12 other incidents.

Fire authorities were dispatched after receiving a report at 2:57 a.m. today that a factory in Wonsan-ri, Haseong-myeon, Gimpo, had been flooded, and they conducted drainage work using one water pump.

At 4:16 a.m., a detached house in Ojeong-gu, Bucheon, was flooded, and roads in Yangchon-eup and Pungmu-dong, Gimpo, were also submerged, prompting safety measures such as drainage by firefighters.

Accidents involving trees falling onto roads and residential areas also continued.

At approximately 5:46 a.m., a report was received that a tree had fallen near a detached house in Yangpyeong-eup, Yangpyeong-gun, and at 6:26 a.m., a tree also toppled on a road in Gwangseok-dong, Siheung, due to the torrential rain.

Authorities removed all fallen trees after completing safety measures.

Around the same time, a road in the Sangcheon-ri area of Gapyeong-gun was closed after a report was received that a mountain had collapsed, causing rocks to slide onto the road.

Additionally, at 5:35 a.m., a woman in her 40s who was camping under a bridge over a stream in Jeokseong-myeon, Paju, was rescued after becoming stranded by rising water.

It has been determined that there have been no casualties resulting from this heavy rainfall.
