A report was received around 6:50 a.m. today that a passenger car had struck a pedestrian at a village bus stop near Jeongja Station in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

The car hit the rear of a stationary bus before continuing to plow onto the sidewalk.

[Bus Driver: I was dropping off and picking up passengers at the stop. Suddenly, there was a loud bang. The car just plunged into the area. I was flustered as it was my first time experiencing such an incident while driving a bus.]

A man in his 30s who was walking on the sidewalk at the time was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest but eventually passed away.

Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus. The driver, a woman in her 50s identified as A, and a teenage girl who was in the car with her were also injured, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police stated that A was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident.
