Figure skater Lee Hae-in placed 6th in the short program at her first International Skating Union (ISU) senior Grand Prix event of the season.

Lee scored a total of 67.49 points, combining 34.86 points in technical elements (TES) and 32.63 points in component score (PCS), during the short program of the 2026-2027 ISU Figure Skating Senior Grand Prix 3rd Stop, the Cup of China, held at the Shenzhen Universiade Center in Shenzhen, China.

Falling 9.41 points short of her ISU personal best of 76.90 points, Lee finished 6th among the 12 competing skaters.

The gap between her and the leader, Mone Chiba of Japan (76.08 points), is 8.59 points.

Lee will aim to break into the medal zone through the free skate scheduled for tomorrow (November 7).

Although she featured the high-difficulty triple axel (three-and-a-half rotations in the air), she left some room for improvement in execution.

Attempting the triple axel (base value of 8.0 points) as her first jump element, Lee received a quarter landing call (where the jump rotation falls short by about 90 degrees) and had 1.14 points deducted in grade of execution (GOE).

Errors also occurred in the subsequent triple lutz-triple toe loop combination.

Lee executed the first jump, the triple lutz, as a single, and then attached the triple toe loop jump.

Because the single jump was treated as an invalid element, she earned only 2.10 points after receiving a base value of 4.2 points and a heavy 2.10-point deduction in GOE.

After performing her flying camel spin at level 4, Lee bounced back from the crisis by securing 1.29 points in GOE on her triple flip (base value of 5.83 points) performed in the bonus section.

Lee wrapped up her routine by successively executing a sit spin (level 4), a change foot combination spin (level 4), and a step sequence (level 3).
