A man in his 40s who was wanted on fraud charges has been caught by police officers conducting a patrol in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the Uijeongbu Police Station, at around 10:00 AM on October 19, police officers from the Ganeung District Unit were on foot patrol near a light rail station in Uijeongbu.
At that moment, a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, made eye contact with the police officers, flinched in surprise, and hurriedly tried to change direction and leave.
Finding this suspicious, the police officers stopped Mr. A, asked him to present his identification, and checked his identity.
As a result of the check, Mr. A was found to be a Class A wanted suspect with an arrest warrant issued for a fraud case being investigated by another police station.
Police apprehended Mr. A at the scene, brought him to the Uijeongbu Police Station, and handed him over to the police station investigating the fraud case.
A police official stated, "Mr. A was extremely flustered," adding, "Since an arrest warrant had been issued, we apprehended him according to procedure and transferred his custody."
