Actor Seo Yea-ji is taking on the occult genre with the film "Geumwoldo" (romanized title).

According to her agency, B.Wave Entertainment, Seo Yea-ji has been cast as Kim Ji-hoo in the film "Geumwoldo".

Originating from actual records of cannibalism documented in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, "Geumwoldo" makes a fresh genre attempt at a "Korean-style vampire," set against the backdrop of an isolated island and a closed community in South Korea. Director Baek Dong-hoon, who directed the film "Le Grand Chef 2: Kimchi Battle," will direct the production.

Seo Yea-ji will portray Kim Ji-hoo, a character who confronts her destiny. Prompted by a message from her mother, Kim Ji-hoo travels to the remote island of Geumwoldo and investigates the mysterious events unfolding there.

Seo Yea-ji has consistently pursued acting projects across both the silver screen and television. Recently taking on her first theatrical endeavor with the play "The Hymn of Death," she demonstrated delicate emotional acting.

"Geumwoldo," starring Seo Yea-ji, will begin filming in mid-November.
