The court has revoked the bail granted to Unification Church Leader Han Hak-ja, who had been released on bail for medical treatment and other reasons.
The 13th Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court decided to cancel Han's bail and confiscated the 200 million won bail deposit she had already paid.
Previously, on October 19, Han was granted bail due to health reasons.
However, after it was revealed that Han left her designated residence at Asan Medical Center in Seoul to travel to Cheonjeonggung, the headquarters of the Unification Church in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, the court held a hearing yesterday to revoke her bail.
In response, Han's legal team argued that she merely rested at Cheonjeonggung during the day and did not violate the bail conditions, but the court did not accept this argument.
