It has been confirmed that personal information of residents in some apartments built by GS E&C has been leaked due to an external hacking attack.
GS E&C stated in a notice sent to customers on the afternoon of October 30 that "we have confirmed a leak of personal information caused by unauthorized external access to the apartment community facility reservation management system."
The hacking attack was identified to have taken place around 10:15 PM on October 28.
The information potentially leaked includes the names, nicknames, dates of birth, mobile phone numbers, genders, email addresses, and home addresses of residents who use the system.
It also includes membership numbers, residency types, passwords, administrator IDs, and household head status.
Information such as membership registration dates, last login IP addresses, and RF card numbers may also have been exposed.
GS E&C is currently investigating which specific apartment complexes have suffered hacking damage.
The company is also verifying the exact scale of the damage, whether individual customer personal information was leaked, and the scope of the leakage.
