Professional football club Gangwon FC has secured its first victory in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League Two (ACL2) by defeating Kuching City of Malaysia.

Gangwon won 1-0 against Kuching in the third match of Group H in the tournament held at the Gangneung High1 Arena today (October 29).

This marks Gangwon's first win in the competition, following a 0-0 away draw against Kitchee (Hong Kong) in their first match and a 1-2 home defeat to Phnom Penh Crown (Cambodia) in their second match.

With 4 points, Gangwon placed second in the group behind Phnom Penh (6 points, 2 wins).

Gangwon tasted victory thanks to the opening and winning goal scored by Choi Byung-chan in the 28th minute of the first half.

Receiving a pass from Kang Jun-hyuk near the right corner of the penalty area, Choi unleashed a surprise right-footed shot, which sailed over the goalkeeper, grazed the crossbar, and went into the net.
