[Anchor] Next is a story about residents of a large apartment complex who stepped up late at night to search for an elementary school student who hadn't come home. They found the child safely, right?
[Reporter] This took place in an apartment complex consisting of 5,000 households.
Three nights ago, close to 10 PM, a public announcement was made that a first-grade elementary school girl had not yet returned home.
As soon as the announcement went off, messages expressing concern for the child poured continuously into the residents' group chat.
Some residents checked the complex CCTV cameras using their wall pads at home and shared the footage, while others went outside directly to search the complex for the child.
After the parents shared information that the child was riding a pink bicycle, the residents even divided up zones to continue the search.
Eventually, one resident posted a photo of a child riding a pink bicycle saying, "I think this might be her," and after the parents confirmed it was indeed their child, the situation ended safely.
A resident who participated in the search shared their thoughts, saying, "I couldn't stay inside thinking of my own child," and "I once again felt the power of the community."
