The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced that the student recruitment for public and private kindergartens in Seoul for the 2027 academic year will begin on the 2nd of next month.
The eligible children are those born between 2021 and 2023.
All public and private kindergartens in the Seoul region will participate in this recruitment, and the admission guidelines for each kindergarten can be checked starting on the 28th under the kindergarten admission section on the Early Childhood Education and Care Integration portal.
The recruitment process will proceed in the order of priority recruitment, general recruitment, and additional recruitment.
Priority recruitment, which will take place from November 2 to 4, is targeted at low-income families, families of national merit recipients, and North Korean defector families.
General recruitment will be conducted from November 17 to 23.
Kindergartens that fail to fill their quotas after the general recruitment will conduct additional recruitment from December 1 to February 12 of next year.
New applicants can apply to a maximum of three kindergartens regardless of the region or whether they are public or private, while children currently attending a kindergarten can apply to up to two.
