Today's hot topic is titled "What Do Squirrels Eat?"
A scene of acorns being dried in an apartment complex has been captured.
Critical opinions are emerging online, asking, "If they do this, what are the squirrels in the mountain supposed to eat?"
The photo showing acorns being dried at an apartment complex was uploaded yesterday along with a post titled "What are the animals in the mountain going to eat?"
There are seven sacks.
And piles of acorns are heaped heavily on top of them.
It is safe to say it is a substantial amount.
Acorns are a major food source for wild animals during the winter.
Therefore, if food becomes scarce, animals like squirrels and birds may fail to survive the winter and could perish.
It has also been pointed out that this can cause wild boars or hungry animals, having nothing left to eat in the mountains, to leave the forest and appear in residential areas.
In addition, if the mountain where the acorns were gathered has an owner, such unauthorized harvesting constitutes theft and can be punishable by up to 5 years in prison or a fine of up to 50 million won.
Netizens reacted with comments such as "It looks like they raided an entire mountain" and "Please leave some food for the wild animals."
