A man in his 30s has been arrested by police after ramming his car into a citizen who attempted to stop him from driving under the influence.

The Seoul Seodaemun Police Station announced that it is investigating the man, in his 30s referred to as A, on charges of special assault and drunk driving.

A is accused of hitting a man in his 40s with his car after the victim blocked his path near the Bukgajwa Intersection in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, at around 1:10 a.m. on October 11.

The victim had stepped out of his vehicle while stopped at a traffic light to demand that A get out, after noticing A's car swerving dangerously across lanes ahead of him.

However, A ignored the demand, drove forward, and struck the man.

The victim sustained injuries to his neck and shoulders, but his life is reportedly not in danger.

Police dispatched following a report checked A's intoxication level and accompanied him voluntarily for questioning.

A's blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.

Police are currently investigating A to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
