Chinese robotics firm Unitree released a demonstration video on October 22 of a new humanoid model capable of acting as a "bodyguard."
The video shows the robot striking a vehicle with its knees and elbows, leaping from a height of 4 meters, and landing with a forward roll.
It also includes scenes of the robot executing a roundhouse kick against an armed intruder who breaks in, lifting the front of a car to rescue someone trapped underneath, and getting hit by a car in place of a human it saved.
However, the South China Morning Post (SCMP) pointed out that information regarding the product's release date, price, and technical specifications remains unclear, and it is also uncertain whether the robot moved autonomously or followed a scripted routine in the demonstration video.
