German professional football club Bayern Munich, with South Korean defender Kim Min-jae playing only the first half, played to a draw against English side Arsenal.
Munich tied 2–2 with Arsenal in the 3rd match of the 2026–2027 UEFA Champions League (UCL) league phase held at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on October 22.
Munich's South Korean national team defender Kim Min-jae started for the second consecutive UCL match but was substituted out for Jonathan Tah after playing just the first half.
The substitution came while the score was locked at 1–1.
Munich started the match dealing with unfavorable circumstances.
Michael Olise missed the game due to a red card in a previous match, Joshua Kimmich was absent due to a family funeral, and Luis Díaz was also left out of the starting lineup.
Arsenal also suffered misfortune just 10 minutes into the first half when Bukayo Saka, the team's joint top scorer, collapsed clutching his hamstring.
Saka immediately signaled to the bench that he could not continue, and Eberechi Eze was brought on as a substitute.
Eze scored the opening goal in the 25th minute of the first half after receiving a through ball from Martin Ødegaard.
Star striker Harry Kane stepped up as Munich's savior.
In the 35th minute of the first half, Kane provided an opportunity to Alphonso Davies with a piercing through ball through the midfield, and Davies slotted it into the bottom corner of the net to equalize.
Kane then scored the go-ahead goal in the 16th minute of the second half from a penalty kick he earned himself.
Previously, a penalty was awarded for a handball after Kane's decisive shot struck the arm of Arsenal's Jurriën Timber.
Kane continued his dominance against Arsenal, recording 16 goals in 23 career appearances against them.
Kane also extended his scoring streak to 10 consecutive UCL matches.
He is now just one goal shy of the record for the most consecutive UCL matches with a goal, 11, set by Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr) during his time with Real Madrid (Spain).
In the 37th minute of the second half, Declan Rice exchanged passes with Viktor Gyökeres and fired a low shot past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to make it 2–2.
Extending their unbeaten run to reach 7 points (2 wins, 1 draw), Arsenal sit in 7th place, while Munich are in 14th place with 5 points (1 win, 2 draws).
Club Brugge (Belgium), where Lee Han-beom remained on the bench, secured a dominant 3–0 victory over Lens (France) in their home match.
Hans Vanaken (45+3' / first-half stoppage time), Joaquin Seys (5th minute of the second half), and Carlos Borges (27th minute of the second half) scored in succession.
