South Korean football legend Cha Bum-kun, current chairman of the Team Cha Boom corporation, has sent a coffee and snack truck to K League 2 professional football club Hwaseong FC, led by his son, manager Cha Du-ri, to boost the team's morale.
According to Hwaseong FC on October 16, former coach Cha sent the food and beverage vehicles to the Hwaseong Comprehensive Stadium the previous day to encourage the players and staff as they navigate the demanding late-season schedule and away matches.
The "legend's" warm message of support for the players continuing their challenge based in the Hwaseong region drew particular attention.
Banners on the trucks read, "I sincerely thank you all for writing a new history in Hwaseong, where I was born," and "Cha Bum-kun cheers on Hwaseong FC, where wonderful young people play."
An affectionate piece of advice was also added: "Have fun, and don't get injured!"
This message aligns with the words Manager Cha Du-ri previously shared with youth players that gained widespread attention. It reflects the deep sincerity of a senior football great who hopes the players can break free from heavy pressure during the tense final stretch of the season and genuinely enjoy football.
After finishing their morning training session, the players shared the food and drinks prepared by former coach Cha, taking time to recharge in a cheerful atmosphere.
Former coach Cha held the record for the most goals in South Korean men's national team A-matches (58 goals) for about 48 years, until Son Heung-min (LAFC) scored his 59th career international goal in a friendly match against Uzbekistan on October 6.
Hwaseong, currently placed 5th among 17 teams in K League 2, is set to play an away match against league leader Suwon Samsung at the Suwon World Cup Stadium at 2:00 PM on October 18.
