Playing as an attacking midfielder for the second consecutive match since the appointment of interim manager Tamarit, Son saw two shots in the first half fall flat, but he spread his wings in the second half after taking on a more free-roaming role.
In the 6th minute of the second half, when his right-footed shot in front of the goal was blocked by the defense, he unselfishly laid off a pass, which Bouanga finished off for the opening goal.
LAFC conceded an equalizer in the 21st minute of the second half due to a defensive lapse, but just one minute later, Son's persistence decided the match.
Flustered by relentless pressing, the opposing goalkeeper rushed a clearance that deflected off Son's chest, and his "close partner" Bouanga shook the back of the net once again.
Recording his 15th league assist, Son surpassed superstar Messi to climb to the top of the assists leaderboard alone.
And five minutes later, he put the game away himself.
When a long kick from goalkeeper Lloris reached the penalty box via the flank, Son sprinted with tremendous speed and neatly finished it off.

Powered by Son's performance—featuring his 7th league goal and two assists—LAFC secured a 3-1 victory, snapping a five-match winless skid and maintaining 6th place.
With four regular-season matches remaining, Son, who has moved one step closer to his first career assist title, heads out for an away match in New York this coming Sunday.
