Actor Yoo Jae-myung makes a surprise confession in front of director Hang-jun, revealing that his dream is to become a film director.
Premiering on Thursday, October 15, SBS's new variety show "Master Hang-jun" is a covert audition program where Hang-jun—who was sometimes pathetic and sometimes servile, but more brilliant than anyone else—sets out to cast top actors for his autobiographical film "Master Hang-jun." The witty and tense talk show featuring director Hang-jun and various stars is drawing high expectations.
With Yoo Jae-myung and Lee Sun-bin appearing as guests for the first episode, Yoo provokes Hang-jun with an unexpected confession.
Yoo confesses, "This is the first time I am revealing this, but my dream is to be a film director," adding with a meaningful smile, "Hang-jun is the reason I realized my dream." In response, Kim Poong wittily quips, "Is it like, 'If even Hang-jun can do it, why can't I?'" bringing laughter to the set.
Hang-jun jokes back, "It's a relief that Yoo Jae-myung didn't become a director. He almost added to my competition." In return, Yoo throws in flattery by comparing Hang-jun to world-renowned master director Martin Scorsese. While looking pleased with Yoo's remark, Hang-jun also self-deprecates, saying, "I get a bit triggered and can't laugh because deep down I sometimes wonder if I really lack directing skills."
Meanwhile, production company CEO Song Eun-yi reveals ambitious aspirations, stating, "Hang-jun's next project is aiming for Cannes and the Academy," while also putting the brakes on Hang-jun's swagger, advising, "But Hang-jun, you need to watch what you say."
SBS's new cinematic talk variety show "Master Hang-jun" will premiere on SBS at 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 15.
