South Korea has smoothly secured its ticket to the finals of the 2027 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-17 Women's Asian Cup by winning all three of its qualifying matches.
The South Korean U-16 women's national football team earned a massive 9-0 victory over Jordan in their third Group A match of the 2027 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, held at the Tursunzoda Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Led by a hat-trick from forward Cho An and goals from five other players joining in a scoring spree, South Korea easily defeated Jordan.
Coached by Korea Football Association (KFA) full-time instructor Lee Da-young, the national team triumphed over Jordan following a 16-0 rout of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and a 6-0 victory over the host nation Tajikistan, claiming first place in the group with three consecutive wins to advance to the finals.
South Korea scored 31 goals across the three matches while conceding none.
A total of 30 teams participated in this tournament, divided into eight groups for the qualifiers, with the first-place team from each of the eight groups advancing to the finals.
Including the four teams that reached the semifinals of this year's Asian Cup finals (North Korea, Japan, Australia, and China), a total of 12 teams will advance to the U-17 Women's Asian Cup finals, which will be held in China next April.
Securing a top-four finish in the Asian Cup finals earns a ticket to the 2027 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-17 Women's World Cup.
South Korea was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup finals held last May, failing to qualify for this year's World Cup finals.
