Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office) and Kang Chae-young (Hyundai Mobis) have been pushed to the bronze medal match in the recurve mixed team archery event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Kim and Kang lost to China with a set score of 0-6 (32-37, 36-37, 34-37) in the recurve mixed team semifinals held at the Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Ground in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on October 2.
South Korea's bid for consecutive titles in this event has fallen through.
In the match, where scores were calculated by summing two arrows shot per person in the order of Kim Je-deok and Kang Chae-young per set, South Korea had a shaky start in the first set as Kim shot two 7s.
After narrowly dropping the second set as well, South Korea saw Kang shoot two 8s in the third set.
Teams earn 2 points for a set win and 1 point for a tie, with the first team to reach 5 points winning the match.
South Korea will compete for the bronze medal against the loser of the match between Japan and India.
