A video capturing television personality Hong Seok-cheon directly cleaning up trash scattered across a road with his bare hands is drawing attention online.
Recently, a video filmed on a road near Gongdeok Station in Seoul has been spreading across social media and online communities. The video shows multiple sacks of trash that had fallen from a truck during the early morning hours scattered across the road, with a sanitation worker attempting to clean them up.
Hong Seok-cheon, who witnessed the situation, stopped his vehicle. After asking his passenger to turn on the hazard lights, he immediately got out of the car and began picking up the trash scattered on the road piece by piece with his hands, putting them into sacks. After finishing the cleanup, Hong greeted the sanitation worker and returned to his car.
It was reported that the video captured an accidental moment where he stepped in to help a sanitation worker struggling in an unexpected situation, rather than something staged.
Netizens who saw the footage reacted with comments such as, "He is the real deal," "He gets cooler as he gets older," "It's even more touching because it doesn't look like a show," and "That is true character." Another netizen left a comment saying, "I remember him always being so kind when I went to his restaurant."
