Here is the final, useful news update.
The "age-4 exam" ban.
Starting today, entrance exams and level tests for toddler hagwons (private academies), commonly referred to as the "age-4 exams," are prohibited.
Written tests, oral interviews, and practical tests conducted by hagwons to recruit toddlers or sort them into classes based on their skill levels are fully banned starting today.
Ranking specific skill levels or evaluating children using external test results is also prohibited.
However, diagnostic assessments conducted through observation or interviews after enrollment, with the prior consent of a guardian, are permitted.
Violators will face fines ranging from 1 million won up to 3 million won, depending on the number of offenses.
