Tomorrow, September 30, the final day of September, brings forecasts of rain, mainly centered around the central regions.
A trough of low pressure visible to the north is expected to gradually pass over the northern part of the country, bringing rain from the afternoon into the night.
The rain will begin around noon in Gyeonggi Province and the northern inland areas of Gangwon Province, expanding to the greater Seoul area and Gangwon Province between the afternoon and evening, and reaching Chungcheong Province and parts of Jeonbuk Province by night.
Expected rainfall amounts are 5 to 30 millimeters for northeastern Gyeonggi Province and the northern inland areas of Gangwon Province, and 5 to 10 millimeters for other central regions and Jeonbuk Province, accompanied by strong winds.
Meanwhile, the weather will turn sharply chilly after the rain stops.
As cold air moves in behind the rain clouds, the morning temperature in Seoul is expected to drop to 12°C (54°F) the day after tomorrow, and further down to 9°C (48°F) on Saturday, National Foundation Day.
With temperatures dropping significantly by about 5°C overnight, proper health management is advised to cope with the sudden temperature changes.
Tomorrow's skies will start clear, with central regions gradually turning cloudy in the afternoon.
Dense fog is expected in the morning across Chungcheong Province and the southern inland areas.
Looking at temperatures, morning lows in Seoul will be 17°C (63°F), similar to or slightly higher than today, while daytime highs will rise to 26°C (79°F) in Seoul and 29°C (84°F) in Daegu, making it warm.
Entering October, a much chillier autumn air will be felt.
During the National Foundation Day long weekend on Sunday and Monday, another round of rain is forecasted for the central regions.
