A plenary meeting of the National Assembly's National Defense Committee was convened this afternoon (September 29).

Minister of National Defense Kang shin-chul and other officials attended to answer questions during an urgent inquiry regarding the landmine explosion that occurred on September 21.

Minister Kang replied, "That in itself is a violation of the Armistice Agreement," to a question from Reform Party lawmaker Cheon HARAM, who asked, "If the North Korean military intentionally planted landmines south of the MDL, doesn't that in itself prove intentionality?"
