Professional football club FC Anyang of K League 1 will continue its journey with Manager Yoo Byung-hoon until 2029.
Anyang announced today (the 29th) that it has signed a three-year contract extension with Manager Yoo.
Manager Yoo took the helm of Anyang ahead of the 2024 season, leading the club to its first-ever K League 2 (second division) championship and promotion to K League 1.
In the 2025 season, he successfully guided the team to retain its status in K League 1.
Manager Yoo has been with the club as both a player and a coach since the days of the semiprofessional Goyang Kookmin Bank FC, which effectively serves as Anyang's predecessor.
The Anyang club highly evaluated Manager Yoo for establishing the team's identity and enhancing squad competitiveness based on his deep understanding of the club.
The club decided on the contract extension after determining that he is the right person to build the mid-to-long-term development direction of the club together.
Anyang Club Owner Max Dae-ho (Choi Dae-ho) stated, "(This contract extension) is a decision that reflects the club's determination to build a greater future for FC Anyang together with Manager Yoo." He added, "We will provide maximum support centering around General Manager Lee Woo-hyung and Manager Yoo so that the squad can grow more stably and build competitiveness."
Manager Yoo expressed his resolve, saying, "Continuing together with Anyang is a great personal honor and a heavy responsibility at the same time." He added, "I will do my best to help Anyang grow into a more competitive team in K League 1 and bring pride to our fans."
