The Chinese government did not disclose the specific details of discussions regarding the Korean Peninsula issue during the summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, instead maintaining a principled stance that its existing positions and policies remain unchanged.
During a regular briefing on September 28, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun responded to a reporter's request to introduce the specific details of the Korean Peninsula discussions between the two leaders by stating, "During this visit, the leaders of China and the United States exchanged in-depth views on major international and regional issues of mutual concern."
He added, "China's stance and policies on the Korean Peninsula issue maintain continuity and stability."
However, he did not mention what specific opinions the two leaders exchanged regarding the Korean Peninsula issue, nor whether topics such as North Korea's denuclearization or a North Korea-U.S. summit were brought up.
Previously, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency reported on the summit held at the White House on September 24, stating that President Trump and President Xi exchanged views on major international and regional issues, including the Korean Peninsula, the Middle East, and Ukraine.
However, Xinhua did not disclose the specific content of the discussions regarding the Korean Peninsula, and no related details have emerged from the U.S. side either.
