South Korean diving star Kim Su-ji (Ulsan City Council) has claimed the bronze medal in the women's 1-meter springboard event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Kim finished third with a total score of 245.05 points across five dives in the women's 1-meter springboard final held this morning at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Japan.
The gold medal went to Lin Shan of China with 263.05 points, while the silver medal was won by Long Yiping (China), who scored 254.25 points.
Having secured a silver medal yesterday in the women's synchronized 3-meter springboard partnered with Kim Na-hyun (Gangwon State Sports Council), Kim Su-ji added another medal in the individual event, picking up her second medal of the competition.
Kim started her campaign with 39.60 points in her first dive (forward 1 and 1/2 somersaults) with a degree of difficulty of 2.4.
She steadily accumulated points by subsequently scoring 53.30 points in her second dive (forward 2 and 1/2 somersaults), 47.15 points in her third dive (backward 1 and 1/2 somersaults), and 50.40 points in her fourth dive (reverse 1 and 1/2 somersaults).
She then secured her third-place standing and confirmed the bronze medal by pulling off a high score of 54.60 points in her final fifth dive (backward 1 and 1/2 somersaults with 1 and 1/2 twists).
Kim Na-hyun, who competed alongside her, finished the event in fifth place overall with a total score of 228.40 points.
