Did a customer find a piece of a knife while eating oysters at a famous oyster bar in Seoul?
A knife blade fragment measuring about 5 cm in length was found in an oyster served to a customer at an oyster bar in Euljiro, Seoul.
Customer A requested scissors to cut an oyster in half, and while cutting it, discovered the knife blade fragment hidden beneath the oyster.
A expressed shock, saying, "What would have happened if I had just eaten it?"
The problem is that the restaurant management already knew that the knife used to prep the oysters had broken.
According to the restaurant's explanation, an employee broke the blade while working, but continued the work after concluding that all the broken fragments had been found.
As the controversy grew, the restaurant's CEO issued an apology, admitting fault and stating, "We should have checked for the entire broken piece."
The CEO also stated that moving forward, if any cooking tools are damaged, work and food service will be suspended immediately, and all related food items will be discarded to strengthen safety procedures.
