The much-anticipated summit between the United States and China has taken place at the White House. While the protocol was elaborate, no prominent breakthroughs emerged, vividly exposing the vast gap between the two leaders on major issues.
First, we have a report from Washington correspondent Jeon Byeong-nam.

A vehicle carrying Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife enters the White House, where U.S. President Donald Trump and the First Lady are waiting outside to greet them.
A welcoming flyover was also staged by advanced U.S. strategic assets, including the B-2 bomber and the F-22 Raptor.

[Xi Jinping / Chinese President: We welcome U.S. companies to invest and do business in China. We hope the U.S. will also treat Chinese companies fairly.]
Following the welcoming ceremony, the summit was held behind closed doors for about an hour and a half.
The White House did not disclose specific discussions or agreements, but Trump described it as a "very good meeting."
Chinese state media reported that President Xi directly pressured Trump, stating that he hopes the U.S. will maintain a correct stance by opposing Taiwan's independence.
On artificial intelligence, Trump maintained that regulations are unnecessary, while President Xi emphasized the need for control, laying bare their differing stances.
At the White House banquet, the two leaders emphasized their friendly ties by recalling historical bonds.
[Xi Jinping / Chinese President: Over 80 years ago, the peoples of China and America fought shoulder to shoulder against Japanese militarist aggression.]
[Donald Trump / U.S. President: President Xi and I understand that we represent different systems. But the bonds between our peoples remain strong, and we are getting along better than ever before.]
Only American big tech leaders, such as Jensen Huang and Elon Musk, attended the banquet, with no Chinese business figures present, prompting gossip about a half-empty invitation list.
