The South Korean women's épée fencing team has advanced to the team final at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, leaving them just one win away from securing a second consecutive gold medal.
The South Korean team, consisting of Song Se-ra (Busan Metropolitan City Hall), Lim Tae-hee (Gyeryong City Hall), Lee Hye-in (Ulsan Metropolitan City Hall), and Yang Seung-hye (Korea National Sport University), defeated Singapore 45-35 in the tournament's team semifinals held today at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, securing their spot in the final.
The women's épée team, which successfully reclaimed the Asian Games team title for the first time in 21 years at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games held in 2023, will achieve back-to-back titles if they win the final scheduled for 7:20 PM.
Ace Song Se-ra, who won the individual event on the 22nd, is now aiming for her second gold medal of the games.
After defeating Mongolia 45-20 in their opening match of the round of 16 earlier today, South Korea secured a medal by beating Japan 45-40 in the quarterfinals.
They also took control early on in the semifinal against Singapore, comfortably managing the match to secure an easy victory.
