People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyeok urged an immediate and thorough investigation into the landmine explosion that occurred near the Military Demarcation Line on September 21.
Leader Jang wrote on his social media account around midday today (September 25), "If (an on-site investigation) is delayed by even a single second, it is a deliberate and Distorted concealment of facts."
He continued, "It is very likely a landmine recently laid by the North Korean military," adding, "If so, it is a clear act of aggression and requires a corresponding response of the highest level."
He also stressed, "The Ministry of National Defense must clearly disclose the exact locations of the primary and secondary explosions first," adding, "If there is no intention to hide and cover up the incident, this can be done immediately."
Leader Jang also stated, "It must also be revealed when the President was briefed regarding the terrain alterations that the United States has been warning about since August," claiming, "If he took no action after receiving the briefing, and if that led to this accident, it constitutes grounds for the President's impeachment."
He went on to quip sarcastically, "The person the President should be fighting right now is Kim Jong Un, not Rhyu Si-min."
