The South Korean women's 3x3 basketball national team has secured a direct berth in the quarterfinals by extending their winning streak to three matches in the group stage at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
Coached by Jeon Byeong-jun, South Korea defeated Singapore 22-13 in their third Group D match of the Asian Games group stage held today (the 23rd) at the special outdoor court in the Kinjofuto Station square in Nagoya, Japan.
Having consecutively defeated Thailand and India in their first and second matches held on the 21st, South Korea wrapped up the group stage with three straight wins, finishing first in Group D and confirming their advancement to the quarterfinals.
A total of 16 countries are participating in the women's 3x3 basketball event at this Asian Games, divided into four groups for the group stage, with the winner of each group advancing directly to the quarterfinals.
The teams finishing second and third in each group will play in a play-in tournament to determine whether they reach the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinal matches will take place on the 24th, and the matchups will be decided later.
On this day for South Korea, Kim Jung-eun (BNK) led the team with a game-high 9 points and 6 rebounds, while Choi Ye-seul (Samsung Life Insurance) recorded 6 points and 5 rebounds, Heo Yu-jeong (Shinhan Bank) added 4 points and 2 rebounds, and Song Yun-ha (KB) contributed 3 points and 4 rebounds.
