Actor Yoo Seung-ho showcased a new side of himself through a magazine pictorial filled with a heavy and profound aura.
Fashion and lifestyle magazine Harper's Bazaar released its October issue pictorial featuring actor Yoo Seung-ho, who received rave reviews from viewers for his flawless portrayal of the psychopath artist Yoo Sung-won in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Flex X Cop 2," which concluded on September 19.
In the released pictorial, Yoo Seung-ho displayed a strong presence by pulling off everything from suits to leather looks. Expressing his affection for the pictorial shoot in the accompanying interview, Yoo shared, "While bright and energetic sides are great, I also have a desire to show a heavy and reticent side."
Taking on a villain role for the first time in 14 years through "Flex X Cop 2," Yoo Seung-ho shared the casting behind-the-scenes story, saying, "For this project, I built many things together with the director starting from the approach. I think there are various reasons why goodness and evil form in any character, and the last time I acted out that diversity was around the time of 'Missing You.' That is why I said I would do it before even finishing the script for 'Flex X Cop 2.'"
Yoo went on to explain the unique significance of the project, stating, "I think this work will serve as an opportunity for me to challenge not only good and evil roles, but also characters with mindsets I hadn't thought of before."
Meanwhile, he also signaled a transformation from actor to photographer. Yoo Seung-ho is holding his first film photography exhibition starting on October 3. Featuring photographs he personally captured in the United States and Mongolia, he shared his thoughts on preparing for the exhibition, saying, "Even if I don't hear praise saying I took the photos really well, I don't want to hear people say, 'They're so bad?' Of course, I should rightfully accept criticism for my shortcomings, but despite that, I am doing my best so that everyone can enjoy the photography exhibition."
Sharing his acting aspirations regarding aspects of himself he has yet to encounter, Yoo Seung-ho stated, "I want to once again meet myself completely immersed in a certain work, acting fiercely as that character."
