Writer Yu Si-min, who has continuously criticized President Lee Jae-myung, launched another direct attack, claiming the President has deceived the public until now.
Appearing on Media Today's YouTube broadcast "Yu Si-min and Media Today Discuss" today (September 22), Yu took issue with the prosecution reform goals recently stated by President Lee during a press conference.
During the press conference on September 18, President Lee said, "The original goal was to separate prosecutors in charge of investigations from prosecutors in charge of indictments, dividing the organizations responsible for investigations and indictments within the Ministry of Justice."
In response, Yu pointed out, "The prosecution reform the President had in mind was different from the prosecution reform we envisioned," adding, "Saying that splitting the current Prosecutors' Office into two was the maximum limit of prosecution reform is wrong."
He then claimed that the President had deceived the public.

Regarding the ruling bloc unity message recently issued by the President at the press conference, Yu dismissed it, evaluating it as "words of little significance," and added, "The phase where things could be patched up with such words passed long ago."
As for President Lee's call to refrain from mutual slanders within the ruling bloc, Yu stated, "Those who created those derogatory terms and cast stones are people who claim only President Lee is right," and added, "This speaks to the suspicion that the President may be at the center of all those things."
He diagnosed that the recent decline in President Lee's approval rating was influenced by policy factors as well as the defection of his traditional supporter base.
Yu claimed, "Many of the people who have supported President Lee are crossing their arms, turning their backs, and joining in the criticism."
Since President Lee's inauguration, Yu has consistently locked horns within the pan-ruling camp over issues such as prosecution reform.
