Singer Shim Soo-bong has apologized for publicly criticizing junior singer Kim Da-hyun.
On September 20, Shim took the stage at a regional event in Jinan, Jeollabuk-do, right after Kim Da-hyun.
Referring to Kim as "the woman who sang before me," Shim raised her voice, saying, "She is a young lady who seems not to know what song or life is. Music is not that easy, and listening to her sing was very exhausting."
Following the event, controversy erupted online with criticisms that her remarks toward her junior were excessive. Ultimately, admitting that she had literally made a slip of the tongue, Shim released an official apology yesterday afternoon.
She bowed her head, stating that she had suffered from severe stress due to noise on the day of the event, and that even with ten mouths, she had nothing to say for blurting out improper and unreasonable words at an inappropriate moment.
She added that her remarks were by no means intended to humiliate a specific individual, and expressed her deepest apologies to Kim Da-hyun and her family.
