South Korean wushu national team athlete Ahn Hyun-ki (Chungbuk Development Corporation) claimed a valuable bronze medal at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, delivering the country's first medal of the competition in wushu.
Competing in the men's taijiquan and taijijian all-around event at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium in Nagoya, Japan, today (the 21st), Ahn scored 9.713 points in taijiquan and 9.716 points in taijijian for a total of 19.429 points, finishing third overall to secure the bronze medal.
Ahn, who placed fourth in the morning's opening taijiquan routine with 9.713 points, moved up a spot by adding 9.716 points in the afternoon taijijian event to stand on the podium.
The gold medal in this event went to Liu Dewen of China, who scored 9.780 points in both taijiquan and taijijian for a combined total of 19.560 points.
The silver medal was claimed by Sun Chia-hung of Taiwan with a total score of 19.453 points.
