South Korean swimming national team captain Lee Ju-ho, competing at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, has won the bronze medal in the men's 100m backstroke for the third consecutive time.
Lee finished third today in the men's 100m backstroke final at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, touching the pad with a time of 53.94 seconds.
It was a fierce battle, with a razor-thin margin of just 0.01 seconds separating him from second-place Hidekazu Takehara, who took home the silver medal.
Following the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang and 2022 Hangzhou Games, Lee has secured a bronze medal in this event once again at this tournament.
The gold medal in this event went to China's Xu Jiayu, who crossed the finish line first with a new tournament record of 51.98 seconds.
Yun Ji-hwan, who competed alongside Lee, finished his race in 9th place overall with a time of 55.29 seconds.
