Seong Seung-min has captured South Korea's first gold medal of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in the women's modern pentathlon.
Competing in the women's final at the Anjo Sports Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on September 20, Seong claimed the top of the podium with a combined total of 1,492 points across fencing, swimming, obstacle discipline, and laser run (running and shooting).
Showing the composure to wave to fans right before crossing the finish line in the laser run, Seong became the first female South Korean athlete to win an individual gold medal in modern pentathlon at the Asian Games.
