The South Korean men's modern pentathlon team captured the nation's second gold medal of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games by winning the team event.
Jun Woong-tae (Gangwon State Council), Seo Chang-wan (South Jeolla Provincial Office), and Lee Jong-hyun (Daejeon Metropolitan City Hall) claimed victory in the men's team event held today at the Anjo Sports Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
This follows the country's first gold medal won earlier by Seong Seung-min (Korea National Sport University) in the women's individual modern pentathlon.
Modern pentathlon consists of five events: fencing, swimming, obstacle racing, and laser run (running and shooting). The team event determines rankings by combining the individual scores of the top three competing athletes from each country.
